City of Preston Gymnastics Club Wins National ‘Transforming Lives Through Gymnastics’ Award
City of Preston Gymnastics Club has been named the 2026 winner of the British Gymnastics Foundation ‘Transforming Lives Through Gymnastics’ Award - a national recognition celebrating the positive impact gymnastics can have on individuals, families and communities.
This prestigious award recognises an organisation that has made a meaningful difference through one of the British Gymnastics Foundation’s charitable programmes, helping to improve lives both inside and beyond the gym.
To be recognised in this way is a huge honour and reflects the values that sit at the very heart of our club.
A Club Built on Care, Community and Support
At City of Preston Gymnastics Club, we are proud to be more than just a place for sport. We are a community built on care, inclusion and support.
Every day, we work to ensure that all children and young people feel safe, valued and able to thrive in a positive, child-centred environment. This includes supporting families through challenges, creating opportunities for participation, and removing barriers wherever possible.

Making a Difference Beyond the Gym Floor
The impact of our club extends far beyond gymnastics sessions.
We have consistently worked to support families during difficult times - from offering funding assistance and flexible fee arrangements, to organising fundraising initiatives that help reduce financial pressure when it matters most.
One particularly powerful example came last year, when the club came together to support one of our families facing an incredibly challenging situation.
With a parent undergoing treatment for a serious illness, their home renovation had been left incomplete. Through the kindness of our community, we brought together local tradespeople and volunteers to complete the kitchen, decorate additional rooms, and create a brighter, more uplifting home environment - including a garden filled with donated plants.
This collective effort reflected the very essence of our club: a community that looks after one another, both inside and outside of the gym.
