Class Participation & Age Guidance
Age Requirement:
Independent classes are open to children of school age (Reception and above). Younger children are encouraged to start in our parent-and-child classes, where our coaches can assess when they’re ready to transition to independent sessions.
Children’s Independence:
Our independent classes are structured for children to participate without parental assistance. If a child requires additional support to engage confidently, they are welcome in our parent-and-child classes, regardless of age. We have created a new Rising Stars class which is the only class we hold that has preschool independent children who are minimum age 3.5yrs and are due to start school September 2025 training alongside reception children ages 4-5years. This is the only class we hold that combines both preschool and reception independently. Please note if booking on this class if the coach feels your child is not ready just yet, they will advise to change to adult and child classes.
Please note all classes that are beginner girls (non rising stars) must already be school aged.
Supporting Every Child’s Development:
We understand that children develop at their own pace. Our parent-and-child classes provide a supportive environment for those who may need extra reassurance before moving to an independent setting. These sessions are ideal for children who:
✅ Need extra confidence to engage in class
✅ Require more support than can be provided in a group setting
✅ Are still developing the skills necessary for independent participation
⚠️ Additional Support Needs:
If a child requires one-to-one support at school, they will likely need similar assistance in our classes. As our coaches are responsible for the entire group, they must divide their attention evenly. For safety and fairness, we cannot offer one-to-one support in independent classes. However, the parent-and-child class allows parents to actively assist their child throughout the session.
Independent Class Policy:
To ensure a focused learning environment, only registered coaches are present in independent sessions. Parents are not permitted to assist during these classes.
