Parent and Child Gymnastics Taster Course

Looking for a fun and exciting introduction to gymnastics? Our Beginner Parent and Child Taster Gymnastics Course is the perfect way to kickstart your child’s gymnastics journey! Over the course, young athletes will get hands-on experience with a variety of gymnastics apparatus, including the vault, balance beam, and bars, all while building skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Children in this class have a coach leading the session instructing parents/guardians on how to 121 support their child along their gymnastics journey. Once they are safe and ready for independent classes their coach will suggest a move up.

This class is suitable for preschool, foundation and key stage one school age children with additional needs and require more one-to-one support.

Please be aware parents must ensure their child stays at the apparatus and on task during lessons. If your child is not ready for a fully structured session, PlayGym may be more suited as the coach led slots are shorter and the gym has more freedom to explore, whereas our parent and child evening and weekend classes run alongside higher level performance classes and gymnasts cannot run freely around the gym during class.

Age Requirement: Minimum age 2.5 years. For younger children, we offer PlayGym sessions on Wednesday and Friday (See the PlayGym section on the website to book). Coaches will advise if children can move to independent rising stars classes.Maximum age is recommended 7 years for children that are not yet ready for independent classes or who need 121 support.

For children with independent experience who are starting school in September we have a rising stars class for 3.5-5yrs in reception.

Duration & Pricing

Course Length:

• 6 weeks (Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday) 

• 3 weeks (Monday) – due to gym closures for Easter and May Bank Holidays.

Price:

• 6-week course: £54 (Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday) 
• 3-week course: £27 (Monday)

Late Bookings: If joining after the course has started, the booking will cover the remaining weeks of the taster course.

Booking Information:

• Bookings are non-refundable.
• After booking, you'll receive an email 2 days before the start with a link to complete a form via our member portal, Love Admin. The form includes emergency contact details, medical info, and terms & conditions.

Class Preparation:

• Location: Unit 2, Campbell Street, Preston, PR1 5LX (near New Hall Lane and Ribbleton Avenue). Parking available but arrive early as it can get busy.
• What to Wear: Tight-fitting clothes like a leotard and leggings (or shorts for boys). Alternatives: a swimming costume or vest. Avoid loose clothing. Club kit is available in reception.

During the Class:

• Can Parents Watch? Yes, as the class is just one adult per child, there's a viewing area for additional parents and a coffee machine (£2 per drink). We also have VIP viewing in the gym - ask at reception for arrival.
• Siblings cannot take part or come it to the gymnastics hall unless they are a baby in a car seat. All siblings watching from the viewing area must have another adult that is not taking part in the parent and child class supervising. 

After the Course:

• Children will continue in the same class unless advised otherwise.
• Changes to day/time can be arranged if needed.
• Monthly fees transition to direct debit. Membership cancellation requires 2 months' notice.
